Alkaline Water and Hydration

One of the best ways to combat dehydration is to first know the signs of dehydration. Unfortunately, far too many people are running dramatically low on water. Believe it or not, the majority of the American population is at least slightly chronically dehydrated. Read on to learn more about the signs and symptoms of dehydration and what you can do to combat this problem in your life.

The first sign of deep hydration is, obviously, thirst. If you find yourself getting thirsty, do your best to drink a water-rich fluid. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as both of these tend to hinder the process of absorption. As time passes, if dehydration is not remedied, symptoms become increasingly dramatic. First, you may notice a loss of appetite, your skin may feel dry, you may notice your urine has darkened, you may look flushed or red, you may notice dry mouth or cottonmouth, you may feel fatigued or weak, and you may experience a “head rush.” While these are more mild symptoms of dehydration, left untreated, they can progress into more serious issues.

If you’re experiencing the symptoms and you leave them untreated, you will likely be an experience a rapid heart rate, an increase in respiration levels, you may notice you’re sweating even in heat, your urine flow will begin to slow down, your body temperature will rise, fatigue will increase, you’ll notice muscle cramps, nausea, headache, and possibly tingling in your extremities. Left unabated (at a mere 10 percent of fluid loss), you will begin to experience muscle spasms, vomiting, a racing pulse, seizures, chest pains, blurred vision, painful urination, confusion, and eventually unconsciousness.

The best way to combat dehydration is, plain and simple, to drink more water. But it’s imperative that you drink not just any water. You should be drinking alkaline water. The negatively charged ions in alkaline water can help promote the defeat of disease in your body. Aside from that, alkaline water is better absorbed by the vital organs and body, which is imperative if faced with dehydration. Maintaining an adequate level of hydration will not only help you flush toxins, prevent disease, and combat the effects of dehydration, but can also help you lose weight and keep it off.If it is your goal to maintain optimal health, and you’d also like to ensure were that your entire family lives a disease-free and healthy life, be sure and encourage proper hydration with alkaline water. It may sound simplistic, but water is the stuff life is made of.
